The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)
The Feast of Corpus Christi invites us to reflect on the greatest gift Jesus has given to His Church: Himself in the Holy Eucharist.
At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread and said, “This is my body given for you” (Luke 22:19). At every Mass,
this same Jesus becomes truly present for us under the appearances of bread and wine. The Eucharist is not merely a symbol; it is the Real Presence of Christ—His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
Jesus promises, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51). In the Eucharist, He nourishes our souls, strengthens us in our struggles, comforts us in our sorrows, and draws us closer to God and to one another.
St. Thomas Aquinas called the Eucharist the “Sacrament of Love.” Every time we receive Holy Communion with faith and reverence, Christ comes to dwell within us and transforms our hearts.
As we celebrate Corpus Christi, let us renew our love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. May we participate faithfully in Holy Mass, spend time in Eucharistic Adoration, and become what we receive—the Body of Christ for the life of the world.
“O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.” Amen.
La solemnidad del Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo (Corpus Christi)
La Fiesta del Corpus Christi nos invita a reflexionar sobre el mayor regalo que Jesús ha dado a su Iglesia: Él mismo en la Santa Eucaristía.
En la Última Cena, Jesús tomó pan y dijo: “Este es mi cuerpo dado para ustedes“(Lucas 22:19). En cada Misa, este mismo Jesús se vuelve verdaderamente presente para nosotros bajo las apariencias del pan y el vino. La Eucaristía no es simplemente un símbolo; es la Presencia Real de Cristo—Su Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad.
Jesús promete: “Yo soy el pan vivo que bajó del cielo; quien coma este pan vivirá para siempre” (Juan 6:51).
En la Eucaristía, nutre nuestras almas, nos fortalece en nuestras luchas, nos consuela en nuestras penas y nos acerca a Dios y a los demás.
Santo Tomás de Aquino llamó a la Eucaristía el “Sacramento del Amor“. Cada vez que recibimos la Sagrada Comunión con fe y reverencia, Cristo viene a habitar en nosotros y transforma nuestros corazones. Al celebrar el Corpus Christi, renovemos nuestro amor por Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento. Que par ticipemos fielmente en la Santa Misa, pasemos tiem po en la Adoración Eucarística y nos convirtamos en lo que recibimos: el Cuerpo de Cristo para la vida del mundo.
“Oh Sacramento Santísimo, oh Sacramento Divino, toda alabanza y acción de gracias sea tuya en cada momento.” Amén.
