Come to the One Who Truly Satisfies
Have you ever noticed that even after getting what we want, a new phone, a better job, or a bigger paycheck—we soon begin looking for something more? Our hearts long for happiness that the things of this world cannot fully provide.
In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah invites everyone: “Come to the water… Come without paying and without cost.” God reminds us that His greatest gifts— His love, mercy, peace, and eternal life—can never be bought. They are freely given to those who come to Him with open hearts.
In the Gospel, Jesus sees a hungry crowd and is moved with compassion. With only five loaves and two fish, He feeds thousands until everyone is satisfied. This miracle reveals that Jesus is not only concerned about our physical needs but also our spiritual hunger. He alone can fill the emptiness that nothing else can satisfy.
As we gather around the altar each Sunday, Jesus continues to feed us with the Bread of Life in the Holy Eucharist. Let us bring Him our needs, our worries, and even the little we have. In His loving hands, our small gifts become abundant blessings for ourselves and for others.
May we always seek Christ first, for only He can satisfy the deepest hunger of our hearts.

¿Alguna vez han notado que, aun después de conseguir lo que tanto deseábamos —un teléfono nuevo, un mejor trabajo o más dinero—, al poco tiempo comenzamos a buscar algo más? Nuestro corazón anhela una felicidad que las cosas de este mundo nunca pueden ofrecer por completo.
En la primera lectura, el profeta Isaías nos invita: «Todos los que tienen sed, vengan por agua… Vengan, aunque no tengan dinero.» Dios nos recuerda que sus mayores dones —su amor, su misericordia, su paz y la vida eterna— no se pueden comprar. Son regalos gratuitos para quienes se acercan a Él con un corazón abierto.
En el Evangelio, Jesús ve a la multitud hambrienta y el llena de compasión. Con solo cinco panes y dos peces alimenta a miles de personas hasta que todos quedan satisfechos. Este milagro nos muestra que Jesús no solo se preocupa por nuestras necesidades materiales, sino también por nuestra hambre espiritual. Solo Él puede llenar el vacío que nada ni nadie de este mundo puede satisfacer.
Cada vez que nos reunimos para celebrar la Santa Eucaristía, Jesús continúa alimentándonos con el Pan de Vida. Acerquémonos a Él con nuestras necesidades, preocupaciones y con lo poco que tenemos. En sus manos, nuestros pequeños dones se convierten en abundantes bendiciones para nosotros y para los demás.
Que esta semana busquemos siempre a Cristo en primer lugar, porque solo Él puede saciar el hambre más profunda de nuestro corazón.
