Ask for the Treasure That Never Fades
If God appeared to us today, as He did to King Solomon and said, “Ask for whatever you want, and I will give it to you,” what would we ask for? Perhaps money, good health, success, a home, a better job, or security for our family. Solomon, though young, asked for something far more valuable: a wise and understanding heart to know right from wrong. God was pleased with his request and granted him wisdom beyond compare.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field and a pearl of great price. Whoever discovers that treasure is willing to give up everything with joy in order to possess it. That treasure is Jesus Christ Himself and the new life He offers us.
The wisdom Solomon asked for enabled him to recognize what truly mattered. We need that same wisdom today so that we are not deceived by wealth, power, or the passing attractions of this world. Only a heart rooted in God can recognize
that the greatest treasure is not found in what we own, but in the One whom we follow.
As we begin this week, let us ask the Lord for a wise and discerning heart, so that we may recognize that Jesus Christ is the greatest treasure of our lives. For whoever finds Christ has found everything.

Pide el Tesoro que Nunca se Acaba
Si Dios se nos apareciera hoy, como lo hizo con el rey Salomón, y nos dijera: “Pídeme lo que quieras y te lo concederé”, ¿qué le pediríamos? Quizás dinero, salud, éxito, una casa, un mejor trabajo o seguridad para nuestra familia. Salomón, siendo joven, pidió algo mucho más valioso: un corazón sabio para saber distinguir entre el bien y el mal. Dios se alegró de su petición y le concedió una sabiduría incomparable.
En el Evangelio, Jesús nos dice que el Reino de los Cielos es como un tesoro escondido y una perla de gran valor. Quien descubre ese tesoro está dispuesto a dejarlo todo con alegría para obtenerlo. Ese tesoro es Cristo mismo y la vida que Él nos ofrece. La sabiduría que pidió Salomón le permitió reconocer lo que realmente tenía valor. Esa misma
sabiduría es la que nosotros necesitamos hoy para no dejarnos engañar por las riquezas, el poder o las cosas pasajeras. Solo un corazón unido a Dios puede descubrir que el mayor tesoro no está en lo que tene mos, sino en Aquel a quien seguimos.
Pidamos al Señor un corazón sabio, capaz de reconocer que Jesucristo es el mayor tesoro de nuestra vida, porque quien encuentra a Cristo lo encuentra todo.
