TESOROS DE NUESTRA TRADICIÓN
Regresando a los tres pilares de la conversión, el ayuno es mucho más que el simple hecho de no comer, es aprender a negarme a mí mismo para que ya no sea yo quien vivo, sino Cristo que vive en mí. Es el negarme de ciertas cosas para dar vida a los demás.
El ayudar es poner en práctica la caridad y la justicia social. Es buscar el cargar con nuestra propia cruz y ayudar a los demás con la de ellos. En otras palabras, es practicar la misma generosidad de Dios quien hace caer la lluvia sobre los buenos y los malos, es amar sin distinción de personas.
Contemporáneamente, el orar es entrar en conversación con Dios, es recogerse para entrar en la presencia de Dios, con todo lo que uno es y todo lo que uno tiene, poniendo todo en las manos misericordiosas del Padre que nos ama.
Esta Cuaresma procuremos hacer lo que debemos hacer todo el año: ayunar, ayudar y orar. Es difícil, pero no nos desanimemos porque el Espíritu Santo viene a nuestro alcance porque donde somos más débiles, Cristo es nuestra fortaleza.

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
Returning to the three pillars of conversion, fasting is much more than simply not eating, it is learning to deny myself so that it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. It is the denial of certain things to give life to others.
Helping is putting into practice charity and social justice. It is to seek to carry our own cross and help others with theirs. In other words, it is to practice the same generosity of God who makes the rain fall on the good and the bad, it is to love without distinction of persons.
Contemporaneously, praying is entering into conversation with God, it is gathering oneself to enter into the presence of God, with all that one is and all that one has, placing everything in the merciful hands of the Father who loves us.
This Lent let’s try to do what we must do all year long: fast, help and pray. It is difficult, but let us not be discouraged because the Holy Spirit comes within our reach because where we are weakest, Christ is our strength.
