Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lenten Season. The Church begins a spiritual journey, a renewal of her existence and a rediscovery of her life with God. It is not only a season of fasting and prayer, “Lent is less about “giving up something,” and more about forgiveness, reconciliation, and acts of kindness and charity that open one’s heart, and moving closer to Jesus”.
