From Our Pastor: Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ

The Solemnity of the Ascension and the Beginning of the Novena to the Holy Spirit.
May 30 – June 7, 2025 (Pentecost Sunday)
This weekend, as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ, we
contemplate the mystery of Jesus returning to the right hand of the Father—not to abandon us, but to open heaven for us and to send us the gift of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Most Holy Trinity.
Before ascending, Jesus gave His final promise: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” (Acts 1:8). He calls us, as He did the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary, to prepare our hearts in prayerful expectation. That is why, beginning this weekend, we invite all parishioners to join us in praying the Novena to the Holy Spirit, the oldest novena in the Church, rooted in the days between Ascension and Pentecost.
Let us pray together for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives, in our families, and in our Church. Come, Holy Spirit—enlighten our minds, inflame our hearts, strengthen our faith, and renew the face of the earth!

“Veni, Sancte Spiritus!” — Come, Holy Spirit!

Copies of the Novena will be available at the
entrances of the church and on our parish website.
